What can be done about erectile dysfunction?

Every second man aged 60 and already each twelfth man under age 40 experiences erectile dysfunction and the numbers increase with age. BUT, on a positive note, almost every case can be remedied! Approximately 80% of all men can be helped with medication.

Not every man who experiences an occasional problem needs to worry. Sometimes the problem is just a reflection of temporary stress or exhaustion. But when a failure in bed occurs repeatedly over a six-month time frame, the reason should be investigated. It is possible that in these cases, substantial mental stress has already built-up leading to a fear of failing. This can easily create a vicious circle situation.

Once a physician has eliminated emotional problems as a cause for erectile dysfunction, chemical drugs are often prescribed to treat the problem. These cause the relaxation of certain blood vessels in the penis. This leads to a better flow of blood to bring about an erection. There are, however, side effects that include headache or circulatory problems that have not yet been thoroughly researched. Therefore the risks associated with such chemical products can certainly not be ruled out yet.

An alternative to these chemical drugs to treat erection problems are special amino acid concoctions. Simply said, amino acids are the building blocks for protein the basis for all functions of the human body. Scientific studies have shown the amino acids L-arginine and L-ornithine to have a positive effect on virility.
